SecondLife Frequently asked questions (FAQ) - Newbie Guide

In life, things don't always go according to plan or how we expect them to on first attempt.
There are mistakes to be made and lessons to learn from them, there are questions to ask and places to get answers - The same rules apply for Online Games such as Second Life which plugs into reality.

The first time i signed up for an account on 22nd March 2010, downloaded the SecondLife Viewer and logged in, i didn't know much about the game or what to do, places to go - i had lots of questions.



SecondLife residents are very helpful at helping newbies get started - it's sort of an healthy habbit, but if you're too shy or proud to ask for help, you'd be walking around naked with a box on your head trying to figure out why you look / walk funny.

The Second Life Support has done a great job at creating a detailed knowledge base that covers all you need from the basics of getting started and shopping for items to advanced stuff like selling in the Market place. There's absolutely no need to duplicate there effort or that of the support forums, so this blog post was basically written to create awareness that such a huge resouces exist.

• Second Life Videos: Dig in to the well categorised video library with lots of tips, tutorials for everyone.
• Ask Second Life Support: If you've got specific questions that are not covered in the tutorials, post your questions to support or post them in the community forum where ordinary users can assist.
• In-game assitance: You can get help from Users in Public Areas called Info Hubs - Just type your question in the Public chat and send - Instant feedback
